ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES



B.P.E. (Bachelor of Physical Education)

Note: NCTE does not recognize it as a Teachers Training Course.

    Eligibility Requirements

  1. A. Age
    The age of the candidate must not exceed 22 years on 1st July of this session. The candidate who have participated in the National or International competition of a recognized tournament or /SC/ST/OBC will be given 3 years relaxation in age. The women candidates will also be given 3 Years relaxation in age.

  2. B. Academic Qualifications
    The candidate must have passed the board examination under 10+2 scheme or equivalent which is required for three years degree course in the university.
  3. Satisfactory knowledge of English is essential because most of the books of physical education are in English.

    Admission Procedure

  1. A. ACADEMIC FIELD
    (1) Written Examination (1 Hour)
    (Based on General Knowledge, Sports and English)
    - 40 Marks
    (2) Bonus Marks
    (On the basis of marks secured in the 12th)
    60 % and Above
    50% to 59 %
    40 % to 49 %
    Below 39 %

    Total 50 Marks


  2. B. Sports Field
    (1) AAPHER Youth Fitness Test (Table Attached) 60 Marks
    (2) Games (Any Two) 100 Marks
    Total 160 Marks

List of Games:


Hockey, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Tennis, Badminton, Table Tennis, Cricket, Judo, Handball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Swimming, Gymnastics, Wrestling, Weight Lifting, Yoga, Track and Field (Two events – one Track and one Field events).

    Notes:
  1. 1. The school of Physical education has the rights to include or delete any game according to the administrative feasibility.
  2. 2. The candidate have to secure at least 40 % marks in the sports field otherwise in spite of his fulfilling all other requirements he will not be eligible for admission.

  • Eligible Candidates


    On the basis of the performance in the admission test the list of general and reserved categories will be displayed on the notice board of the department. In every category the admission will be given only on the basis of merit. If any seats are found vacant in any category it will be filled on the basis of merit from the waiting list of that category. If the seats are still vacant it will be filled from general category. In each category 30 % seats are reserved for women candidates.

      Notes:
    1. 1. The seats for SC and ST are interchangeable.
    2. 2. The change in the rules of State Govt./ University/ Department will be applicable from time to time.
